Lakeside Training is a division of Lakeside Coaches Ltd headed by Marie Pugh our Training Manager and provides Staff and PCV (Coach and Bus) Driving licence training, CPC and First Aid courses.
Our relevant and stimulating Driver CPC courses are delivered at our JAUPT registered training centre in Ellesmere, Shropshire in our bespoke training facility not far from Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Telford and Welshpool. These courses can also be held at 3rd party or independent venues using our mobile classroom equipment.
As well as Driver CPC (DCPC) we provide other courses such as first aid at work, we provide practical PCV driver training and most test slots are held locally at the DVSA practical test facility in Shrewsbury. In addition to this our training centre at Ellesmere is a DVSA approved centre for the Module 4 – Practical Demonstration Test. We aim to provide a whole test package from start to finish.

- Organise your Theory, CPC and Driving Tests

- Accommodation whilst training (if necessary)
Acquiring your PCV is not as difficult as you might think, all you need is:
- A PCV Medical (which we can arrange at a reduced rate)
- PCV Provisional entitlement on your licence
- PCV theory & hazard perception test pass
- Driving assessment (to accurately gauge the amount of training required)
- Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) if driving commercially
- Structured Lakeside PCV Training course
- PCV Driving Test
Amongst the learners we have already helped to gain their vocational licence we have experienced a diversity of people some who have achieved against the odds because of their limitations, our PCV Instructor has hands on experience of Autism, and learning difficulties and takes great pride in helping all achieve.
We supply you with a training book/ record of achievement, that you will keep at the end of training. Your prospective employers can look at your training and see what you driven, what your strengths and weak points were and how you overcame them. It could act as a reference.
We can also provide all the necessary study material, advice and help for your theory test. All you need to succeed is to Focus on achieving your goal.
For those who already hold PCV licences and are either new or well established in their careers, we provide specialist courses on night, motorway, defensive and fuel efficient driving. As a service for employers and drivers themselves we also provide driver assessments for those who may be returning to the road after a long period, those lacking in confidence or in need of a skills/competency assessment.
Our Emergency First Aid at Work course is very popular with a whole range of employers from a diverse range of industries and individuals alike. We are soon to launch our MiniMedic courses into local schools and groups, so watch this space!
